KINGSTON, Mass.--Ryan Leonard, a freshman defenseman at Sacred Heart, was the first MIAA player selected in this year's Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL, or the Q) draft.

Leonard, who's from Duxbury, was selected in the 5th round, No. 90 overall by the Drummondville Voltigeurs. He registered five goals and 16 assists for 21 points last season for Sacred Heart, which won the Mayflower League and also won a tournament game for the first time in program history.
